Want to enter your class to win a field trip of a power plant or supplies for your classroom?! The 6th annual Power Pledge Challenge is in its planning stages for next school year. For 2018, REAP is again partnering with utilities and other supporting organizations to deliver an Energy Efficiency and Conservation lesson to middle school science classes – at no cost. The lesson is delivered by one of the partners and includes correlations to NGSS and Alaska Science Content Standards, as well as improving the energy literacy of your students (check out the video to the right on energy literacy in Alaska). Students who complete a simple online energy pledge enter their class to win prizes. The regional prize will be a tour of the power plant and pizza party; the grand (state) prize includes up to $1,200 of energy efficiency kits from NEED.org

We once again will have FOUR regional prizes, and all will be competing for a grand (state) prize. The presentation windows for each region are below:

Homer/Kenai: September 17th – 21st

Mat-Su/Eagle River: September 24th – October 5th

Juneau: October 1st – 12th

Anchorage: October 8th – 18th
